All of the cowgirl positions involve the woman being on top of the man. This gives the woman a sense of domination over the man. More importantly, it gives her total (or almost total) control over the experience. She can adjust her body as needed to fully enjoy the experience. These positions also have an easy flow from one to another. Notice that the flow is also between groups, i.e. cowgirl can easily be changed to an inverted missionary just by the woman moving her legs back and leaning down to the man.

Do not get hung up with these natural flows. They are only examples. You can easily flow from one of these positions into a position that is in one of the other groupings. There is nothing worse than loss of spontaneity.
